Florianopolis, Brazil #45

September 21,
How about those CHIEFS!!!
We stayed up and watched that game! Oh meo-myo!! That is what Jeff’s mother would have said!
We did not get to bed until 0100 AM, but it was worth it. Jeff woke at 0630, and me at 0730 – which was close to our normal times. Oh well! We readied and Jeff took our last load of laundry down to the washing machine. We had our Javas and breakfast of some “last ofs” – oatmeal and Muesli mixed, with our fixin’s. When the washing machine finished we took the load to a ‘lavanderia’ to dry the clothes…because no dryers remember. In the first place, the dryers were offline. So Jeff found another one, but it was a full service and wouldn’t be done until tomorrow due to the storm – which probably meant they don’t have dryers. Finally, the third place was the working charm! We stayed there until our load was completed! When it finished, we loaded up.
Next we went to a barber shop. It was time for a hair trim for Jeff. A lady did his cut. It ended up a little short but not a scalping. It cost 90 BRL, or $17.55. Jeff gave 100 for a 10 BRL tip. We left and went to the grocery store – for some sushi, and supper groceries. We will be leaving tomorrow.
Now we went back to our place. We ate the sushi with a Sav Blanc wine. It was a good meal. We settled in for the afternoon, as it started raining – quite a bit. Time passed…just resting my knee. We both had a siesta. Then for supper we had the last of our great Minas Gerais Parmesan cheese, some dried beef, last of our cream cheese, and crackers/bread with a Malbec wine. What a great way to celebrate our last day in Brazil.
We started our sorting and packing procedure and went to bed by 2130.
