Asuncion, Paraguay #10

May 22,
I awakened feeling pretty good, but cool and turned on the heater. Thankful for them.🤗 Today was my niece’s “due date” – she and her husband are expecting their first child. I had thought about this with the passing of Mother’s Day and realized she will always be a mother after her “little man” (as she called him) is born. It was a shazam moment for me. She will make an awesome mother. Moving on, because I’m tearing up! Jeff and I set about to our Javas – his is still hot chocolate. I can’t get him to the dark side. We had Granola and yogurt for breakfast. After we finished we watched some YouTube videos and posted the blog I finished last night.
Around 1300 we went out to go to the malls for steps. Our fruit/veg lady was out! What?!! Surprised us!! So much for thinking she was only out on Wednesdays. Anyway, we started our laps in the first mall, but as soon as we arrived at the food court we stopped. The parilla place – Ese Lugar, or That Place – was calling to us. So we had lunch. I picked out bean salad (a little too dry this time), broccoli/cauliflower mix, and sauteed cubed squash or pumpkin, and two kinds of lasagna (a meat and a veggie). Jeff had bean salad, corn salad, and some grilled brisket. We shared the meat and he had a few of my veggies. It was great! We paid 144,500 PYG or $23.73 for our meals. Then we finished walking there and walked to the other mall, doing laps here as well. The shops in both malls are similar with many being the same. This is ironic as they are so close together. As we were walking in this mall we realized that the Mandalorian movie is now showing. We definitely want to go to this!
We finished getting our steps and went to the grocery store in this mall. Once we acquired our stuff we went back to our place. Jeff researched and tried to get us tickets for the show, but it seems we will have to do it in person. So we spent the evening researching and watching videos about future plans.
We had another great sunset from our rooftop! The clouds seemed to be rows of contrails as they radiated across the sky. For supper we opted for popcorn. Later we readied for bed, I reached out to my sister, but alas, no “little man” yet.
