Arequipa, Peru #24
July 13,
We awoke and both had a good night’s sleep. Jeff is feeling better and improved. Thanks to all for prayers. We readied and had our breakfast of oatmeal and yogurt with Javas. Then Jeff and I started some planning. Since we did an outline itinerary, he started researching and getting some stuff rolling.
Around 1100 we went out for a brief walk, as Jeff was feeling up to it. We found a pharmacy and tried to replenish a prescription, but they did not have it. So we went to the mall and a different pharmacy there had the medicine. So we bought it and went into the grocery store. We picked up a couple of items, paid and went back to our place. Jeff didn’t want to press his luck, too much as tomorrow is a travel day. I made our lunch of pasta with onions and Huancaina sauce. We love that sauce very much…and we know how to make it. Jeff did some more planning and I did some cleaning to start righting the place. Then Jeff had somewhat of a set back. Man!!! He took some GI medicine. The set back may have been confounded by the medicine we started this morning. The med is to prevent malaria as we are heading to the Amazon area and Mosquitoes! Why did God create them??? Anyway, we will continue to take it easy the rest of the day. I started packing our clothes up.
We opted for a light supper of crackers and cheese. Then we watched some YouTube videos. Fingers crossed for tomorrow’s travel day.
