Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Punta del Este, Uruguay #6

     September 29,

Up and about to another very overcast dreary day. I did not mention that yesterday it rained and it looks to be the case today – again. We got around and had our Javas as the rain started. It was short-lived, but the clouds did not go away. Breakfast was an egg sandwich. Jeff went to the gym and did some treadmilling. I stayed in our room and listened to music.

Morning gave way to afternoon and Jeff went to a local pizza shop for takeaway…but it was not open. So he came back and took the car to the closest local grocery, called Disco Fresh Market. There’s no disco ball or disco music! I find the name hilarious!! Anyway, I started the oven and he returned with a bacon and cheese pizza. It heated well in the small oven, but it was less than impressive. It was a step above frozen pizza, but lacked seasoning. We still have spices and jazzed it up some. Then we just hung out listening to music. The place has a big smart TV, which allows YouTube and other channels. This is very nice, since it was still pretty miserable outside. It is even cold inside and we had the heater on.

Supper was some red pepper, Parmesan cheese, and peanuts. We then watched some YouTube videos and called it around 2200.

     September 30,

I woke up at 0630, but could not get out in the cold. Jeff said he’d been awake since 0600. I think we stayed bundled in the bed until 0830. Jeff was reading and I was catnapping. We finally got about to another overcast day. Today’s high is only supposed to be 55°!! Someone we’d met in Arequippa, Peru had told us he found Uruguay cold. Well I can testify to this…it’s supposed to be springtime! We set up for another day of music listening. Anyway, we had French toast with our Javas. Jeff went out and worked out. When he came back he loaded up a mild, stretching program for me, because I want to do something, but not ready for a treadmill.

Around lunch time we went to the grocery store and picked up stuff for supper. We came back to our place and had our leftover pizza for lunch. I had a hard Pomelo drink with mine. Jeff had a beer. The pomelo drink was very good and it was the first time we’d seen it.

Afternoon gave way to evening. For supper we made some pan seared tuna steaks with dijonnaise sauce and Greek salad. It was lovely! The day ended without rain, and we had a nice sunset up on our rooftop. But it was cold, baby!
