Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Punta del Este, Uruguay #5

     September 27,

Connection Day! This was good as the day was very cloudy with an outlook of rain.

We got around and had our Javas. Then we did a WhatsApp video with my mother and her husband. They were doing well and finally Kansas it seems is getting some heat relief and rain! One of my aunts by marriage passed away. I have fond memories of her – she was a good woman, and will be missed. Then we finished catching up, and will talk next week. Jeff and I then set about to a breakfast of granola and peach yogurt. Then we went to another grocery store to find a few items we have not yet found. We also went to a ‘China Market’ shop. Then we went back to our place as the rain settled in.

Next we connected via Zoom with our brethren back home and watched the service. Afterward we had lunch of chicken & spinach stuffed ravioli with a veggie marinara sauce and an Uruguayan Tannat wine. The raviolis were not as good as we’d hoped, but the sauce and fresh Parmesan cheese grated on top helped. We then were able to watch the Chiefs game. Kelsey scored a touchdown!!

Next we talked with my sister via another WhatsApp video. She is doing well as is her family. They are keeping busy at their glass shop. She will be having a procedure next week so we will skip talking next week. We then had popcorn for a light supper. Jeff’s sister and her husband were not available as they are on a church getaway in Hungary. The rain has been continuing – mostly off and not on. We’ve had to turn on the heater. Bed by 2130.

September 28,

I slept in – I am enjoying this bed and snuggling into covers! Snug as a bug in a rug😂 !! We got around finally around 0900! Jeff said he’s been awake since 0500! We had our Javas and breakfast of oatmeal and yogurt. The weather has continued very cloudy and cool, mid 50’s for the high! It’s brisk and the wind has picked up more today, but the rain should be over. The views of the Atlantic Ocean that we see – it is very choppy. I started catching up on blogs, my knee is doing much better. I am not having to wear the brace, but I am still mostly resting it. No workouts even though I’m tempted – No way Jeff would let me!

For lunch we went out to a close-by mall. We got a few steps in, then ate at Mr Kebaps. We both had a donor kebap, fries and a drink. The portions were big and so was the price. It cost 1,300 UYU, but we had a discount. So we paid 1204 UYU, or basically $30. We went to the grocery store here in this mall. It was a hypermart, so we had to check this one out, getting a few things.

Back at our place we settled in for the rest of the day. I had a power nap. Then I blogged more with Jeff reading. We listened to music most of the afternoon and evening. For supper we had cheese, hummus, bread and crackers with another Tannat wine from Uruguay. Simple living, somewhere else.
