Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Koh Samui, Thailand #8

     January 15,

We got up and about. Outside there was some blue sky with lots of white clouds. Our temperature is supposed to be 88 degrees F today! We had our Javas and breakfast of banana, caramel bread that was an impulse buy. WOW! So glad we bought it! I didn’t realize have been missing banana bread. I used to make, but not with bananas like they have here. We both relished it. Then we watched some Youtube videos.

About 1130, we went for a walk about. The tide was too high for a beach walk so we just walked along “new-to-us” roads, taking in the sights. We saw some construction and speculated as we continued.

Around 1230, we went to Jinda Cafe – where Jeff had gotten our take away a couple of days ago. We had Stir-fry Chicken with Ginger and Veggies; and Stir-fry Chicken with Cashews, Mushrooms, and Veggies. I had a Kiwi Smoothie and Jeff had a Coconut Smoothie. Super yummy lunch! (yum emoji) We paid 500 Baht ($14.40) – 40% of this was the smoothies!

Now quite full we went back to our place, relaxed until that meal was processed. Then we worked out with our resistance bands and cooled off after by taking a swim in our pool. Afternoon gave way to evening, and we had a light supper of a cucumber, tomato, & onion salad; some crackers; and a sweet mango.

It never rained today. A good day!

     January 16,

Awoke to rain, a lot of rain. We got up and had our Javas and breakfast of Muesli, yogurt, and milk. We then watched some Youtube as it rained off and on much of the morning. Jeff did go for a water refill during one of the rain breaks.

Around noon there was a big long break and one of the Russian families came out enjoying the pool with their little one year old. Then the older girls – 5-7 years old – of other families, came out as did the family next to us with the 4 month old. I am still amazed how many young children are here. I don’t know if the parents are working remotely, but they have been here as long as we have. The family of the one year old has a car, so they have been here a while I bet. Questions? Anyway, they have a little community here. But the rain started again and the pool was empty with rain drops rippling it. We ate our lunch of a tomato-onion and lime seasoned bruschetta-type bread; and cheddar cheese.

Afternoon was listening to Worship 24-7. The weather cleared some, at least no more rain, but we hunkered in because it looked like rain anytime. Around 1700 we hopped on Little Honda. We arrived at Think Retro Cafe at 1715. We ordered an appetizer of Fried Spring Rolls with Plum Sauce; Steamed White Snapper with Lime, Garlic, and Chili Sauce. We had drinks: me a long island iced tea, and Jeff a beer. We listened to the live music and enjoyed. When we finished we were wanting a dessert. So we had a “Pineapple Fritter” – which was pineapple wedges in a filo, deep-fried and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We paid 987 Baht – Jeff gave 1,000 Baht ($28.93). On our way out I gave the live performer 50 Baht tip.

Back to our place, we stopped for a water refill and then settled in for the evening. It rained some more, we watched some You tube. Bed by 2200.
