Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Koh Samui, Thailand #15

January 25,

This morning when I peeked out, I thought, hmm… it actually hasn't rained in quite a few days.🤔 It sure looks like today. We got about having our Javas and breakfast. We attempted to do poached eggs. The eggs did not do so well in the pot, and was kind of a mess. We also had the last of our sourdough bread.

Since it looked like rain, so we just hung out. Jeff went out at ‘tenish’ to the 7-Eleven for me some Coke and him some beers. Maybe I jinxed the day, because it started raining around 1030 or 1100. At first, the rain was hard for like ten minutes, but then it was off and on again lightly through lunch time. So we had lunch here – the leftover chicken with the great sauce; some cheesy-corn; and bread. I blogged and Jeff read. We saw the family next to us toting their stuff to a vehicle – this is the family with the 4 month old baby. They must be leaving. I saw the cleaning lady servicing the place later and asked if they left. I motioned rocking a baby. And she said, “Yes, Lily's gone.” She knew the baby's name! Cool, that super-impressed me!

Early evening we went and walked the beach. There was to much cloud cover for the sunset. But we did see a couple of hydrofoils, or e-foil boards out enjoying the calm water of the bay. The people doing them were just learning and going slow, but it was fun to watch them. Then I took a public access to the road to get to Jinda Restaurant; Jeff went back to our place to get the scooter and pick me up with the food. We could walk it back to our place, but it’s hot food and the Little Honda is quicker than hoofing it. Anyway, we had the Tom Kha Gai Soup and a Vegetable, Cashew Stir-fried Rice. Yumm😋… so good. Ended the day feeling blessed.

January 26,

I awoke getting good sleep – once I got to sleep.☹️  We had our Javas and breakfast of Muesli, yogurt, and milk. Then we got around and readied to go to Koh Samui International Church.

We hopped on Little Honda around 0940 and took off to the north part of the island. We arrived and came into a prayer session. So quietly found seats as we were greeted by the transplanted South African minister. He did not remember us – you could see it in his expression. So I greeted him, “Hello, Russell. I’m Paula.” He was surprised and realized it was not our first week. He boisterously said I essentially put him in his place, when he said hello to Jeff as “Paula’s husband, Jeff.” It was humorous, and he took it all as a show. The lady I thought was from Greenland showed up and said she is from Ireland, not Greenland – my bad.🤭 Their were around sixty people. Anyway, the service started and went in the same layout as last week. In the Introductions segment, one couple was on their honeymoon and also it was announced that there would would be four baptisms after service. That’s praise worthy! Russell gave a good sermon on love and obedience.

After service we went to Fi Greek Restaurant. Again we were the only ones there eating. We had a Pita Wrap with Lamb & Greek Salad; and Lamb Casserole, which was Lamb Stew in tomato sauce, served with French fries. I had a glass of white wine and Jeff had a mango shake. Total bill was 1,060 Baht ($31.56). Both dishes were great. The lamb in the casserole was fork tender and the sauce was amazing; and the lamb pita was super great with the fine salad. The waiter remembered us from before and told us of Friday night buffets, pointing to items that are served on the buffet. We put it in our calendar to remember it.

Finished we went across the street to the Big C mall/supermarket. Acquired our things and next went to the Artisan Bread store and bought more sourdough. Now we head back to our place, unload, changed into our swimsuits and hit the pool. The afternoon was just some siesta time.

Around 1730, we went for a stroll on the beach and took in a sunset. There were definitely less people, but still touristy. Actually, we saw a couple in beach wedding attire getting pictures. That was different. We don’t know if they were engagement or wedding pics. We returned to our place and had supper, making our own Greek Salad and having some sourdough bread. Then we talked with my mom on a WhatsApp video call, and plan on doing Zoom with our church from back home.
