Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Florianopolis, Brazil #43

     September 17,

I awoke, but by no means was I rested. It took quite a time to get to sleep with my brace and knee hurting whenever I turned. We did not even get out of bed until 0830, I think. I was not in a good mood, disappointed and looking at being stuck inside/down for the foreseeable future. Anyway, we had our Javas and breakfast of PB & J’s and split a banana. My knee was a tiny bit swollen so I started around the clock Ibuprofen and iced it after we finished eating.

The day wore on as we listened to music, YouTubers and I played phone games, as Jeff read or planned/watched more YouTube videos. For lunch we had the last of our chili on the last of our pasta. Afternoon gave way to evening, we had both taken a siesta. The sunset was again brilliant. Later we snacked on peanuts. I had to take a pain pill and some Ibuprofen. We went to bed by 2200.

     September 18,

I awoke feeling better. I slept lots better and my knee was better. The weather has turned back to cloudy, overcast and cooler, but my outlook was way better today. We set about to our Javas and breakfast of French toast with some cream cheese and jam or Nutella. The cream cheese here is different. It comes in a plastic container and is more liquid than solid, very spreadable.

We then watched some YouTube videos and I was reminded of a saying we’d seen on one of the YouTubers we watch. He had bought a great T-shirt that read:
“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.”
That helped me with my attitude, hopefully I can remember it for the next resting days of my future.

Anyway, for lunch we made some lemon chicken and a Greek salad – totally a Greek meal…except no Retsina.☹️ Jeff had gone across the street and found a nice Sav. Blanc that accompanied the food decently. We both had a siesta and then I blogged as Jeff read and cleaned up the dishes. There was not a showing of sunset, due to the “cloud-socked-in” sky. We had popcorn for supper, as it started raining, Simply living, someplace else.
