Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Da Lat, Vietnam #65

     January 1,

We were able to stay up! Yeah!!😂🎉🥂  There was a fireworks display at 2145 that we saw and two more – one at 2245 and other at 2400 – we did not go out for either of these. The one at midnight lasted for 30 minutes. We have had our fair share of fireworks this past year, so we did not feel slighted. Anyway, we slept in a bit. Then we had our Javas and breakfast of French toast with PB and/or Nutella; and yogurt.

The skies were still white & gray, fitted out with rolling puffy clouds. We decided to hang out and were able to talk with Jeff’s sister, her husband, and a dear friend that was visiting them. Then we got a call and thought the package we were expecting yesterday might be coming. It never did, but we had to hang around in case. We had our left-over pasta, sliced cucumber and tomato for our lunch. Then we gave up on the package. We won’t be getting it, but that was okay we had not paid anything for it. It was payment on delivery, and the delivery guys have always had trouble finding this place. So we went for a walk around the lake, and stopped at the grocery store on last time.

Afternoon turned to evening, and Jeff went out for rotisserie chicken for our dinner. We watched some You tube. It was a boring day to ring in the new year, but that’s okay.

     January 2,

Up and about by 0700. But the forecast was supposed to be rainy this morning with some clearing this afternoon. We had our Javas and breakfast of last of Muesli, some yogurt, and milk. We should not have but we stayed in due to the forecast.

By 1400 it had not rained and was clearly not going to… those weathermen, murmur murmur. 😒 So we set out, walking, for lunch/ dinner. We went with the SteakViet Restaurant. We ordered the garlic bread, and mains of the Smoked Goose Breast with French fries, and the Vietnamese Beef Tenderloin with a ½ “backed” potato. We also had our Chilean red wine. The meal was – as always – superfine!! 😋

We reminisced over our stay in Da Lat mostly, but also Vietnam. We leave tomorrow and will greatly miss this gem of a country we have found, but we take solace in knowing 🫰🏻🤞🏻 we will be back. The bill was 700,000 Dong ($27.51). We paid and left. Walking back I just soaked in Da Lat… already missing the place! Back at our place we watched some movies and started thinking of our packing… Moving on.

Have you thought of doing podcasts like the ones I see on YouTube. You both have great personalities and would probably fund much of your travels by inviting people to join.

Yes, we thought about it but only momentarily. It would become a job, as to be successful on You tube, you need to post regularly. We were not interested in that! But thanks for the compliments!😊
