We were up by 0700 and got about. Jeff took a picture of the sunrise, and readied. Then he went to get some water as the tap is questionable for drinking, and laundry soap. I readied after him as our bathroom is smallish and started sorting our stuff more. We will be here for almost a month. When Jeff came back we had our Javas on the balcony and breakfast of Muesli & yogurt. Then we tackled our laundry. Our place has a combo washer- dryer in the kitchen. The dryer aspect is only sufficient for “a few items that are synthetic”, but it served our needs. I blogged some and Jeff read.

We then explored our place, went up to the roof, taking in the city. The pool is one floor below us with the building’s parrilla area here as well. The gym is also on this floor, but indoors. After checking out the building, we went to a closeby mall to check it out and just get steps in. We also had lunch here. We were bad and had KFC fried chicken and fries. We have both been craving fried chicken for some time, so we finally gave in. Then we went to a grocery store to check it out and got a few essentials.

We had a Greek salad and bread with a Chilean Malbec wine. It started raining some time in the evening and did not stop, turning into quite a thunderstorm.

     May 8,

I did not sleep well again! The trouble was with falling asleep. I kept thinking of someone back home that has gone into hospice. There was also the continuing serious thunderstorm that was still going on until early morning. Anyway, I did not awaken until 0820, so I got around slowly. The outside temperature was 60° by 1000 and was only going to get up to 65°. We had our Javas and breakfast of oatmeal and yogurt inside. Jeff went out and about, checked out some stuff, and bought some groceries. I stayed in our place and readied leisurely, pampering myself.

For late lunch we made some pasta with chipotle sausages and veggies in a tomato/mushroom sauce with some sourdough bread. We also had a bottle of Chilean Cab Sav. Then Jeff had a siesta and I played some games and listened to music and completed this blog – finally getting caught up again. Supper was bread, and leftover salad.

Of course, as soon as we posted this the first time we had fireworks go off!🎆🎇
