Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Arequipa, Peru #23

      July 11,

Happy Anniversary to one of our nephews and his wife!!! (I forgot to blog this)

Jeff didn’t have the bestest night. Yesterday he started having GI issues and we think it may be due to his Gallstones. So he went with light meals, no alcohol, and rest for today. I had a bit of leftover mac&cheese and some leftover pesto pasta we still had for breakfast. Jeff had the last of our granola. We are starting our “last ofs” as we leave in three days.

Jeff laid down and I worked in my travel calendar journal. I did some housekeeping chores. Since there is so much dirt in the air it does settle everywhere and requires occasional wiping down. For lunch Jeff had the rest of the mac&cheese, and I had an egg sandwich. He then laid back down after yet again visiting the throne. Hmmm, not good, but thankfully this is his only real symptom – no pain. We took in the World Cup match between Norway and England. England pulled out winning.

Supper was an Arabe empanada (spicy ricotta pepper, ground beef, onion, and lemon) for me; a Triangulo empanada (chicken, ham, bacon and cheese) for Jeff; and we split an apple. We watched Argentina play and win against Switzerland. Then bed.

     July 12,

Happy Anniversary to my sister and her husband!!!

As I typed this, I realized, I forgot to blog…

   Happy Birthday to our niece!!!

June and July are busy celebratory months for our kindred!🤣  Anyway, we got around early, because our power went out at 0600! Jeff found out it was a scheduled outage for maintenance and there will be no power until 1400!! Wowza! That would have been nice to have known in advance. At 0700 we did our WhatsApp video call with my mother and her husband. Breakfast was an egg sandwich, yogurt and an apple with our Javas. Our stove is gas powered, thankfully.

Next we zoomed with our church but only before service began. We have to conserve our batteries with the power outage. We had rice topped with mushroom, olive and egg stir-fry for lunch. Then I laid back down for a brief nap. Jeff is kind of better, maybe. It’s hard to tell, but he was able to start some research and booked our flights out of South America – Columbia – to the US in May.

Around 1500 I went out to the Franco Grocery store and got some bananas, apples and cheese. Bananas mostly for Jeff for extra potassium. When I got back we just listened to music. My sister was busy so we will catch up later. Supper was a grilled cheese sandwich, an apple and a banana. Then we connected with Jeff’s sister and her husband.

It was just a couple of laid back – healing days.
