I didn’t awaken until 0830! Hurried to ready and then we connected with Mom and her husband. They are doing well. We had our Javas and Breakfast of French toast with a splash of cinnamon rum. It didn’t enhance the flavor as much as we thought it would – that was a bummer. We went out to the grocery store for lunch fixings. As we walked our menu morphed from a local dish into chili! We found hamburger, hot sauce, taco seasoning, and cumin to make a chili powder of sorts, since nowhere seems to have chili powder mix. Back at our place we mixed up the chili, found out the can of black beans was only about ⅓ of beans and the rest was sausage and shredded beef. Huh…good thing we had garbanzo beans also! Making comfort foods throughout the world…it can be a challenge!! Anyway, as it simmered, we connected with our local church back home.
For lunch, we had some of that pot of chili. It was fantastic with some red wine. By late afternoon, we connected with my sister. She and her family are well. Supper was a snack of bread and seasoned EVOO. Jeff went up to the roof. It was an excellent sunset, so I went up also. Rounding out the day we connected with Jeff’s sister and her husband. All is well with them as well. Good connection day!

We were up & about. We had our Javas and breakfast of granola and yogurt. It was crisp, cool outside and very cloudy. So we really did not get outside, being homebodies today. Morning turned to lunch time. We made air-baked potatoes with some chili topping. This turned out great. Nice way to use chili! We had a bottle of red wine.
The afternoon was just hanging out. For supper, we had snacks of a carrot, bread, and more seasoned hummus. It was around then we remembered about my screen protector. An email confirmed it had arrived earlier, so Jeff went downstairs. It wasn’t there.🤔 Hmmm….

Breakfast corned beef and poached egg each. We were finally able to get drinking water delivered instead of carrying it from the stores. Jeff was also trying to figure out where my phone screen protector might be. He went back downstairs as the other security guard was on duty. He said he’d been on duty and did not receive it. Man, so frustrating. Then Jeff relooked at everything, discovering the address our host gave us was wrong and another building down the street had that address. He went there and got it. Yay! Then he researched Amazon cruises, and a bunch of other things.
Mid afternoon we had a pepperoni sandwich. Then I blogged as Jeff read. When I finished we went out – to just get out – going to the mall to get steps as it was still cool. The high was only 67°. After walking laps we went to the grocery store. Back at our place we had a white wine with a lettuce salad for dinner. Jeff went to bed at 2100. I called it just after I finished this blog, 2200.
