Vina del Mar, Chile #12
December 25,
Merry Christmas!!!
We had a simple, but blessed day. It started with a text from my sister with a GIF of a kitten reaching out and hugging. Well that just made me cry and reinforced our blessings! We then readied- having our Javas and a breakfast of bacon and tomato sandwiches, and then went for our walkabout. We set out a different way–uphill first! The city is truly spread out over many hills. It surprised me that some of the little local convenience shops were open. But generally most places are closed up. As we were heading up to a viewpoint, we encountered another surprise… a convoy of three fire engines, and a truck coming down streets and playing Christmas music. There was a Santa riding on the top of the lead engine waving to all!! What fun! As we walked on, we saw the caravan a couple of more times and one place had some kids following!!!
Anyway, the viewpoint was great. The city unfolded amongst the hills, down to the ocean. Jeff posed up here and reminded me of a Conquistador, the way wind swept up his hat.😂 I can’t help but have good vibes today. I know it is some because it is Christmas, but Jeff and both love this place! The weather is fantastic, and many flowers are blooming, including poinsettias!!
We came back to our place. Our hosts have some family here and are enjoying themselves. Hope everyone has a blessed day as well! God bless!
