Ubud, Bali #2

September 8,
We both slept well and finally feel caught up with sleep – if there is such a thing. We got around and Jeff walked to Roti Bohemia Bakery, which is just around the corner from us. He got a couple of pastries/donuts and a couple of different yogurts from a local grocery store just further down the road. When he returned we had our Javas and the stuff he’d just bought.
We then talked with my sister. She had a good birthday. Yeah!! 🎂 Next we turned in laundry to be done and readied leaving around 1130. Jeff had a dental appointment set for noon. It was not very far away- 4.4 km, or 2.7 miles; but again traffic and the routing to get there is a zoo! It took us 28 minutes. We had not planned anything else today, because we did not know how this appointment would go. He went in and had a consultation with the dentist. But it was a no go – Not so much due to time to get a permanent crown, rather the dentist’s schedule and our moving around Bali Island didn’t jibe. We will be one week here and then two weeks on the north part of the island and it’s a 3.5 hour drive to here with a 3.5 hour drive back… not reasonable. So Jeff will deal with getting a permanent crown in the future, hopefully at our choosing, not because of issues with the temporary crown going kaput! The dentist did an X-ray and Jeff was back there for 15 minutes, but the dentist did not charge any fee, as in zip, zilch, zero… not even for the X-ray! Wowza!!
So now with this done we decided on lunch right next door at Indian Delites Restaurant. We had Veg Momos X five pieces; Sweet Corn Soup, a light soup with mild seasonings – very hot, nearly burnt my tongue; and Mutton Korma, boneless mutton chunks in spiced brown cashew curry. Yummm, it was all very delightful.🤭 I had a mixed fruit juice to drink, Jeff had a mango lassi. Our bill was 417,000, which is $25.40. After we finished we loaded and went to a local shop and bought a couple of things, then to another grocery store and bought supplies, as there’s a little kitchen room behind our place. We unloaded and blogged/read. Supper was popcorn and peanuts, and we turned in by 2200.
September 9,
Today was not much, as it rained all. day. long! Breakfast was granola and yogurt. Lunch was Greek salad. Dinner was Sundried Tomato Pesto Pasta with bread from our roti place. We got our laundry back – it was 60,000 ($3.66). We talked with Jeff’s sister and her husband.
The biggest part of the day was dealing with… Korea. Jeff was having issues booking trains and buses internally then found out the Korean Thanksgiving and two other holidays have caused a ten day transportation issue. This is the time frame when we were planning on going. Long story and at least five hours later… we still are up in the air. Stay tuned for updates!
