October 21,
We awoke to rain pattering our place… still. It has been raining non-stop since Sunday afternoon! Our weather app says it should be about 9 inches total over 3 days… I believe it. Anyway, we got around having our Javas and breakfast of oatmeal with trial mix and yogurt. We definitely did not have plans today, or even desire to be out and about.
We watched YouTube and just vegged most of the day. Jeff is still checking out future agenda stuff. I am getting pretty good at one of my games. 😂 Around 1300 we went out to get takeaway Beef Noodles from the same place we had gone to 3 days ago. It’s good and we can get there by staying under awnings so as not to get wet. We ordered the Beef Soup and a side of steamed Cabbage, and took it back to our place to have some wine and bread with it. The soup did not seem as good as I remembered it!
Afternoon gave way to evening and we just had a snack supper of crackers with PB. It continued to rain. We watched a movie and turned in.
October 22,
I did not sleep well at all last night. I know I was still awake at 0300 AM!! 🤯 Not a happy camper! ☹️ It continued to rain through the night. I did get 4.5 hours of sleep, so thankful for that I guess. We got around – did laundry, had our Javas, and breakfast of oatmeal with a Nutella knockoff and nut/fruit mix; and some yogurt. Then we looked at some of the planning Jeff has been doing, narrowing down our options.
Around 1230 we went out, braving the rain. We were stir crazy! I think I was more than Jeff. We went to the food court where the Beef Noodle place was, but nothing sparked our fancy. So we meandered until we saw a food street and duke into an alley with a restaurant, called Manchu Beef Noodle Restaurant. We ordered Mushroom Gongmaru Soup; Scallion Pie; and Xiao Long Bao (Soup Dumplings). It was all very good. The mushroom soup was a great clear broth with two meatballs – I assume were pork. The green onion (scallion) pie was stemming hot and like two pieces of naan with the green onion sandwiched between them. And lastly the dumplings… they were better than the first time we had bought them. A little pocket of soup with a small pork ball wrapped in a dumpling, served with a ginger soy mix for dunking them in. YUMM!! We both enjoyed the whole lunch. When we finished, we went to pay the 261 TWD or $8.49, she dropped it to 260 as she didn’t want to deal with the one TWD, or three cents.
We got close to the Carrefour when Jeff realized he’d left our bag at the restaurant. We quickly walked back to get it. It was still nestled on the seat next to where he’d sat. WHEW! Then we walked about going to several little marts to find the last items on a list we needed. I think we went to four different places, including a Japanese store called Don Don Donki. This place is like a maze. We only found chocolate here! I don’t need to go back into that store. It is just weird!
Anyway, back at our place, and afternoon turned to evening. We looked up and discovered Sunday through Tuesday there has been 8 ¾ inches of rain so far! We had bread, cheese and wine for supper, and called it a day.
