Seville, Day 2
May 11th
Today was just walking about Seville and absorbing the city. It is a larger city, around 700,000, with a metro of 1.5 million metro. Last evening we got the energy vibe, but today it's laid back. We both think it is due to tourists all about and meandering in the heat, or maybe it's the older Sevillians out and strolling. I like to think it's the latter. (Older couples strolling – because of the heat, but out to do something.) Anyway took in the sites (as much as we could in the shade).
We had lunch. Both of us having paellas. They were different than what we'd had before. One was chicken with different bell peppers, other was veggies. (I think we both enjoyed our first paellas in Valencia better.) After lunch back to our place for a siesta.
Now for that energy!! We went to a Flamenco Show. The performers: a guitarist, two singers, and two dancers – one male and one female. WOWZA!!! They displayed energy, but mostly they exuded passion. You could help but feel as they danced and sang and played. Between the whirling, strutting, tapping, stomping, clapping, singing, picking and strumming… you just can not help but sense the emotions they emoted. It was sensual and spontaneous, but powerful. To say we enjoyed it seems weak somehow.
After the show, we went back to our place and ate dinner. Then went out for sunset and just finished absorbing the day.
