Today was laid back, “takin' it easy”. After breakfast, we finished blog from yesterday. Finally out and about to the ocean! 🙂 We caught a bus to the beach. Porto is on the northwest coast of Portugal. It's Douro River runs right through the city and empties into the Atlantic Ocean. We went right to the water's edge and dipped our tootsies in. WHEW! It is chilly, but refreshing. Walked over to the cement pier that has a lighthouse and enables the river traffic to go to the ocean. Saw a couple of men fishing from along different levels of the cement pier. It's always nice to just stand along the ocean. We ate a light picnic lunch of nuts and oranges. Then meandered along the boardwalk, and caught bus back to our place. We'll cook supper here tonight – pasta. Hope to see a good sunset later.
