Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka #55
June 30,
We awoke and leisurely readied. No plans today, just a rest day. Breakfast was a Sri Lankan one. Jeff had an egg hopper, but I did not, otherwise was the same as yesterday. The smoothie had more pineapple taste – so good.
After we finished, we went back to our room. I started the blog about yesterday. It was involved and took much of the morning. I needed a break so we went for a dip in the pool briefly. Then back up and into our room.
We had very light lunch of a bit of spicy trail mix and I had an apple, Jeff an orange. Back at the blog. then mid afternoon we went for a swim and a break. At the pool was someone we recognized from Nilaveli – they had eaten at the Moon Isle Restaurant the night we did. So I struck up a conversation based on the recognition. We all talked for an hour or so. The group: 3 adults, and 5 kids/older teen agers, are all from Norway and will be here around a month. It was great to converse with them. The youngest boy turns ten tomorrow, July 1st.
I went back up to the room to try to finish the blog before dinner. Jeff stayed down long enough to find someone and order our dinner. I was able to get the blog completed — Whew! It was a long one! We got the blog pictures sorted and added, then went to dinner. We both had a soup – one veggie & egg and one chicken noodle. We split a main of Chicken and Fried Noodles and a salad. We opted for no dessert. Instead we had some chocolate in our room.
I video chatted with my mother and then later we zoomed with our church back home, putting in a prayer request for my mother's husband, due to an upcoming surgery. Bed by 2300. God bless to all!
