Phu Quoc, Vietnam #15
–August, 30
We awoke, had our Javas, and breakfast of fried egg sandwiches. It turned into a bright sunny day. Actually, glad it was not like this yesterday – we would have been crispy critters (even with the coverage of our swimwear)!!
Then I blogged, and blogged, and blogged some more. Jeff did our dishes and a load of our laundry. Morning passed into just beyond lunchtime, at this point, I just stopped to get food! We went to lunch on our scooter at the Korean BBQ restaurant. We had Sweet & Salt Coconut and Garlic Chicken; Corn Cheese BBQ Chicken; and Corn Salad. Then we went shopping at the non-touristy store and the liquor shop. We loaded back up on our scooter and then back to our condo.
I resumed blogging and more blogging – finally finishing around 1600!!! Whew!! It's a long one! Jeff occupied himself by reading this afternoon while I completed the blog! Then he proofread the blog and even updated our website- changing the home page! It was due, and looks great if I do say so!
Supper was bread and blue cheese with white wine. We were still full from our lunner! Today we spent 1.7 million Dong, which is $68. This obviously less than yesterday's total – 6.2 million … Dong, which was $249.

Today we awoke to total overcast skies and rain much of the day. So day was pretty much cooped up in our condo. Breakfast was Muesli and yogurt–also had our Javas!
We attempted to do some swimming laps, when there was a break in the rain. But the water was very cold and the wind was biting even the temperature was supposed to be 86 degrees! So morning just ended up being – watching a little bit of You tube.
For lunch we made a big tossed salad and had some bread with the blue cheese. Then we just listened to Worship 24/7 and kept an eye on the everchanging rolling clouds, and different incoming rain showers. Amazing!
We decided to go to the Meet n' eat for supper. They were setting up for a big birthday party of a local man, that owns a big restaurant here on Phu Quoc — somewhere (according to Vi). As we were waiting for our take-away…it started raining again, of course. We ordered: a Teri-Egg Burger, which is a hamburger of beef patty with teriyaki sauce, fried egg, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion; a “Bolognaise Rogatoni” (which was actually a Spaghetti, not rigatoni, Bolognese); and Onion Rings. We took our order back to our condo and had a bottle of Vietnamese, Vang Da Lat, Export, Red Wine.
Plan on watching the fireworks–if they are able to have them with all this low cloud cover and rain.
