Phu Quoc, Vietnam #11
–August 22,
We awoke and Jeff's knee was still bothering him (it had started last night). He noticed it starting on the trek at the waterfall yesterday. Anyway, we decided on and had a laid back day. We had our morning Javas and breakfast of french toast with leftover baguette.
I blogged on the day before our venture. Then we went for a swim, which aggravated Jeff's knee more!🙁🤔😕 The morning turned into lunch time and we had a great lettuce salad. Afternoon was Jeff researching and reading, me playing games and both of us watching some You tube. Evening came and we went down to the Night Street Bazaar on the scooter. When Jeff moved the scooter he noticed his knee again. SHAZAM! We think his knee irritation must be from how he backs up the scooter. Anyway, he went to the tourist store and I went to the food stalls – getting him the sausages and me the skewers-one of chicken with veggies, the other of pork and veggies. We met up and scootered back to our place for supper. We made our own “Banh Mi's” with the meat, some veg and baguette we still had.
Sunset was okay, but the “after show” display of color was brilliant. Then we watched the fireworks – it was different again! But while watching I banged my knee! I guess I was trying to one up Jeff!?!

Awoke – I had trouble sleeping because of my knee. I felt it each time I turned, it seemed. Jeff said his knee was better. Humph! I noticed I had a bruise on my knee. So I took some Ibuprofen. Sometimes I can be so klutzy! Anyway, we had our coffee/hot chocolate. Breakfast was Muesli and yogurt. I then used the TENS unit on my back! I think my back was bad due to favoring my knee last night. On top of all this it rained quite a bit this morning. It's gonna be another laid back day.
We watched You tube and 'vegged out' healing our old bodies! 🤔😅 The rain stopped some but clouds still ruled the sky. Anyway, lunch was some stir-fry of veggies and sausage over rice (after Jeff went and got an onion and a head of garlic). It was good. I was feeling some better. Yeah!
Afternoon was more You tube and future planning, or listening to Worship 24/7. Then it was time for supper – Jeff went to a local place right outside of Sunset Town. We had spotted it a few days ago coming back on the scooter. It was Rotisserie Chicken place. Jeff returned with a whole chicken – including the feet! Jeff said the head was still on when the guy took it off the rotisserie, but thankfully that was not included!!🫣😮 But other stuff was included – a big bunch of greens; a cucumber; two red hot chillies (we did not even try); two bags of an awesome sauce (a citrus, lemongrass based sweet-spicy); and a sticky rice log in half of hollowed bamboo shoot. (This was cool!) The meal was great! But we had leftovers – as in enough for (two?) more meals!! Jeff said it cost 180,000 Dong ($7.21).
Went out for sunset, but it was lost in the massive cloud cover, and actually we felt a few drops of rain!🙁 We went back in I blogged and Jeff read as we listened to more Worship 24/7. Plan on seeing our nightly fireworks.🎆
