Mysterious Mauritius 2
August 28th
Yesterday was another laid back day. Jeff still was not up to par, probably his worst day (hopefully). I puttered around our airbnb and did my 10,000 steps. This place is very nice. In the previous blog, the picture was of the entry area. The outside is a gated “yard”- more like a small tropical oasis. A gardener came in the morning to tend the assortment of plants. I saw a green gecko and a green lizard gecko. The inside is very spacious: a huge living space that is open with island divider to differentiate front room and dining room (with a real dining table and chairs); a big galley type kitchen; and two bedrooms separated by a large bathroom with a washing machine. I did a bit more sorting and putting our stuff out. Jeff was in bed most of day. He did get up to eat and felt good enough to go out for sunset- which was spectacular. We drove the three blocks to the beach- he was not up for the walk. But, wow! We were both glad to be able to take it in! There were so many colors with big, puffy clouds to enhance those hues. We could even see shadow draping of rain. We were blessed!!! 🙂
Today Jeff feels better when he's up- thank you God! He looks better, too; more color. (He was able to say hi to our church family via ZOOM, but that was about it! I WhatsApp'd our families.) I was able to sit out in our entry area and see couple of birds: first, I think was a Mauritius cardinal- so beautiful and very red!; second was a Red whiskered bulbul! I showed them to Jeff (from Google I couldn't get any pics of them. 🙁 ) Anyway, I think that encouraged him to sit on the patio/oasis area for lunch, and he enjoyed. It was pleasant enough out. The Red whiskered bulbul came back but He only saw it in flight.
I'm gonna close here. Tomorrow is our 31st wedding anniversary, so probably won't have another entry til 30th. God Bless to all. Maybe we be able to be about Mysterious Mauritius by then!!?!
