Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Moroccan Living 6

    June 22nd

Today is a special day because we have three nephews born this day, same year, and within 12hrs!!!  Shout out to you all, love you all lots.

We set out mid morning for the beach, but very quickly changed our plans. Because, well the wind is significant! We don't want to be sand-blasted!!! So we went shopping instead. Hah, this is funny because we are not shopping people! But we were going to go to the store (as in groceries) after the beach. It just moved up a notch on the list. Anyway, we got a bright pink dish drainer and some essentials; took a taxi back to our place; unloaded our bounty; and back out to lunch.

Basically, we went out across the street! There's a quaint little restaurant between us and the sea. It has great reviews, and is only open for lunch. Campana, only does one set menu daily…truly! Our starter was a drink. I had herb tea, more like a mint tea – served hot; Jeff had ginger-lemon drink, called “detox”. Main was a Sea Bream ceviche with mint, red onions, and citrus; with sides of bread, a summer squash type base stuffed with a minced meat filling and an avocado relish. So good and light! Dessert was a chocolate mouse/pudding served over granola with figs – he described it as 'chocolate without eggs, butter ,or milk' (I asked him about it later. It is chocolate with coconut milk and spices, heated til thickened.) Second best place to eat – first, being my birthday place. We will come back here!  🙂

We went back the whole way to our place (across the street – if you remember). Caught up on some You tube and I cleaned our windows! Amazing how the wind and sea and sand can taint your view. But this was like kismet, because I forgot there was a PARADE tonight!  Best yet…it starts right outside our place (between us and the restaurant, yes on that street).  The participants lined up and started just after six. It was groups of musicians. So colorful! One group was PURPLE, one green, one turquoise, one bright white, another black, another red…well you get the picture! They all had a different beat/sound with basically drums; some included reed-type clarinets, some horns, many castanets, and cymbals. It was so exotic and fun to watch from our very clean windows! Then we had a light French type dinner: sliced carrots, a baguette, and cheese.

Sunset was even great! We were very blessed today!! Thanks be to God!!!
