Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Moroccan Living 31

     August 4th

Yesterday's highlight was going to our favorite rotisserie chicken place, Grillade Kabir. We split a half of a chicken. So good – it's 'fall-off-the-bone' tender! We will come here once more before we leave Essaouira…

We only have 10 days left here! Tomorrow marks two months here in the windy city, Essaouira. Unbelievable!! The workers are still working on our plaza. I'm starting to think they probably won't be done before we go, but I've enjoyed watching them and the progress that has been made. Also, we are now picking out places we want to eat at again. Today on our trekking, we went by the quaint restaurant, Jad's Flavor. (We found it a couple of weeks ago… it's the newly opened one, only been opened two months now.) We asked him what he had (he doesn't have everything on his menu). Starter was traditional olives and bread-with a little butter bowl… this is a first anywhere here that I remember. I then had the Vegetarian Tagine. It had potatoes, carrots, squash, and green peppers – all simmering in a lemon (with pulp), herb-laden sauce. So flavorful (hee-hee)!!! Jeff chose the Sardine Tagine. His had same veggies (smaller amount) with the sardine fillets (sardines are bigger here, you can actually have fillets) simmering in a fresh tomato-herbed sauce with touch of lemon and sprig of fresh rosemary, garnish. Then we shared a plate of peeled, sliced oranges topped with cinnamon and mint leaves. Such a great combo! We enjoyed our meal, and was so glad he was open (we had been by a few other times and the place was closed).

Anyway, tonight will be salad and maybe popcorn.
