Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Mad Tour, Day 15

October 9th

We awoke and up around 07ish. At 730, we took a small leisurely stroll on the beach. (I am feeling better and want to be out.) This beach is white sand and has a bunch of different whole – some big – shells. It is a sheller's paradise! We went back to our bungalow, readied and to breakfast around 09. Breakfast was fruit salad of pineapple and papaya, bread and a croissant, a very different juice (not naturally sweet at all, I'm reserved on it), and coffee/tea. (It has been my first coffee for three mornings, and oh boy was it strong!) We finished and went back to our bungalow – realized we forgot to get a water. I volunteered since I feel/want to be up more today.

The hotel has a single row of bungalows stretched out along a “private beach.” Their area is differentiated by elevation; rest of the beach to the water, about 10-15 ft is public. I'm pretty sure they did this so the customers aren't constantly inundated (like we were at our last place). I did walk to the end, discovered there are 17 bungalows (they skipped # 13). Anyway, rest of morning was just taking in the sounds of wind and surf; watching the fishermen sailing out to catch food for the day; and watching an occasional gecko or maybe a lizard. They do behave and are shaped differently, but can't look it up without wifi.

Around oneish, we went down the beach the opposite way from this morning, toward the village. Jeff wanted to check out options for lunch. There were a couple of restaurants but they were charging the same amount as the hotel restaurant (Jeff did not grab that much cash, I wanted safe food, and we both were not that hungry). Sooo… we back to the hotel and each had a fruit salad. It was pineapple, papaya, banana, and maybe guava(?). I had a Youzou- a sprite like soda. Jeff had THB. It was a nice light, and satisfying lunch. After we finished we did order our supper – mark your calendars – we selected the same three dishes!! Only differences will be our sides! LOL!! 😉

We went back to our bungalow (remembering to get another water this time). Siesta time and blog time. We did go out and watch sunset evolve. It was okay – nice to just sit and watch; then showered; and went to supper. We had a presupper drink – Jeff had rum and ginger, I had rum and coconut with milk. Both were very didfferent and good. Now supper we had appetizers of Greek salad, which was chopped cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, peppers, onions, and a feta-type cheese with fresh leaf parsley and garnishs of lime wedges with small side drizzles of… beet puree (Really??). It was very good change!!! … excluding the beet thing! Mains were a grilled fish in a lime juice with garlic and parsley – soo, so good. I had side of rice, Jeff was sauteed julianed veggies. Dessert was chocolate mousse.

Back to bungalow and bed by ten.
