Mad Tour, Day 12
October 6th
Today we didn't have breakfast until 9 with departure at 10. So we had leisurely a morning. We tried to update our blog, while able to do the text we could not get the picture to upload, at all. Anyway, breakfast was bread, two kinds, with a pineapple type marmalade. We both had tea – I have head congestion big time. With the sinus/upper respiratory infection that I had not completely 'licked' and all the dust from windowless driving for a days on end, my poor head is very irritated! The tea helped a bit.
We started out and drove a whooping 40 minutes. We unloaded at Savannah Beach. We are the only ones here! The place is new and in good shape. Probably one of the best hotels we have been at! The shoreline has turned enough that there is a contstant strong breeze/wind. It gives the place a windswept dunes feel, as there are sand swirls/drifts/banks all around.
I did a bunch of down time today. We had lunch at two. Jeff had ordered us spaghetti Bolognese. It was good and the spot. The restaurant area is indoors but has a layer of sand on the floor – this is different, but nice to the feet. I did more down time. George and Jeff took a small walk into the village and came back via the beach. We caught another great sunset.
Supper was presented the best we have had!! We had starters: vegetable au gratin, and crochettes of cheese balls on a salad with a very tart lime dressing and honey. Both were very good. Our mains: Zebu in a brown sauce with glazed carrots; other was thyme battered fried chicken pieces and french fries. Both of these were excellent and had a drizzle of a tangy, not sweet, red sauce. Dessert was nutella crepes and caramelized pineapple rings. Met up with George and plans in morning. Bed early for me!
