Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

     October 27,

At 0800, I awoke after sleeping great! This bed is so, so much better!👍🏻 Jeff slept better also, but had been awake a while. We got around and had our Javas and breakfast of Muesli and yogurt. Then we spent the rest of the morning on video calls with my sister and Jeff’s sister with her husband. Now it is only three days until we will be back in the USA and seeing Jeff’s sister with her husband. It is the closing of this chapter of our 2.5 years, to start a new one…

We were both ready for lunch. We had seen a bistro close by, so we went there. It was Yaletown Bistro. They had advertised Reuben sandwiches and it’s been a hot minute since we’d had one. The place itself was Canadian themed. The owner (maybe?) came from Yaletown in Canada. We ordered a combo: mushroom soup; three bean salad; and a 12 oz Reuben sandwich. We also ordered a Berry Lemonade. It cost us 825 TWD ($27.02)! A little pricey! We took it back to our place. It was well worth the price! The soup was light and warm; the salad a little sweet but good; and the sandwich, well it was superfine!😋🥰 Our last reuben may have been… South Africa? Anyway, we spent the rest of the afternoon inside of our place. I blogged and Jeff read/planned.

By early evening – sunset time around 1730, we set out. We headed toward the harbor. The walk to the harbor was pleasant, along a wide median in the divided road, about three or four blocks. As we approached, we saw a park area and a little commuter train that circles around labeled as clockwise and counterclockwise. I found that humorous, but it makes sense. An elevated walkway was built here as a viewpoint. We took advantage of it. There was a smaller sized cruise ship that had come in some time earlier today. It was docked at the cruise ship port – which is a very cool building, artistically – it looks like a breaching whale. The ship anchored here was called the Star Voyager. The ship’s size seemed comparable to Holland American Cruise Liners we have been on in the past. Jeff looked it up. It can hold 1,998 passengers, so it is a little bigger. Our previous HAL ships held 1,400. Anyway, it sparked our interest as we just recently booked our cruise to Antarctica!! Our boat has a similar name, called the World Voyager, but is way smaller – only 200 passengers! We will be going in February. I’m so excited!!! Anyway, that is in the next chapter.

We left the harbor area walking back to our place. The traffic is lighter and dusk is setting in. The tall building’s lights are starting to come on. It always surprises me how much cities change from the daytime to the nighttime- even though we have been in many! They all do the transformation. Anyway, we picked up some nachos from a Mexican restaurant, called Mi Casita Mexican Restaurant. We had wanted a taco salad, but they did not have one! We paid 280 TWD ($9.16) and took it back to our place. It was not the greatest, but okay. We had some popcorn as well. Then we watched a movie and called it a night.
