Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Hue, Vietnam #27

     –November 8,

Awoke and around by 0630. We had our Javas. It is the last of mine, so Jeff had found a coffee roaster near us… because he loves me. That is one thing on the agenda today. We also need a grocery store. But first we went down for our included breakfast. I had an omelet with cheese and mushroom, and ginger tea. Jeff had an omelet but with tomato and onion, ginger tea and an orange juice.

About 1000 we set out, to explore our new “environs”. We found the coffee roastery – Nha Quin. They had bags and made their own. But of course we had translation problems. I went ahead and ordered a cup. When it arrived it was not the bean that I wanted to buy, but it was flavorful and matched the description. I remember it had lemon and pine tastes – not flavors I would choose. I went out on a limb and ordered a 100 ml bag of the one I wanted. It is Arabica and has flavor profiles of dark chocolate, caramel, spicy, dried fruits, nutty, and sweet aftertaste. I can't wait to try it!!! Jeff had water. Another couple struck up conversation with us. She's Vietnamese and he's from California. They love the coffee here and were surprised Jeff wasn't drinking any. She said they know the owner and she does all the roasting of her coffee beans at home not here. Anyway, come to find out they live here and own a craft brewery – Imperial Craft Bia. They invited us and they found out I don't like beer, but I would go… because I love Jeff. Neat how that can work out. The couple got this and loved it. It was fun and we planned to go there for dinner.

Next, we walked to the grocery store – Go. We found most every thing on our list – it's an actual grocery store, not a convenience store. We had enough stuff that Jeff put in for a Grab taxi back.

Now we walked around the corner to a place for lunch- Bun Bo Hue Ba Gai. I had the Beef Noodles and Jeff, the Beef and Pork Noodles. We split a water. Total was 100,000 Dong ($3.96).

Once back at our place we settled down for a siesta. Then I got up and had a sore throat… What up with that!! So we had to forego supper plans. Jeff went out and got us take away from – Vegan Restaurant An Nhi Chay. We had a superior Mango Salad, and Pineapple Fried Rice. For us not being vegetarian, we both enjoyed this meal greatly! We sat out on our balcony and just enjoyed. Then we went to bed by 2200.

     —-November 9,

I awoke still very sore throat. I did not even want coffee. We went to breakfast. Jeff had his same tomato/onion omelet, but I had yogurt with cornflakes and fruit. Then back up to our room and I hibernated, slept quite a bit–I know I'm sick because I usually only do this then. Jeff went out and got me some medicine and we just vegged!

Jeff went back to the vegan restaurant for us take away lunner. We had Sauteed Mushrooms with Orange Sauce, and Soft Fried Noodles. The meal was as good as last night's. This restaurant is very close to our place – Hue Lovely Homestay.

After we ate I went back to bed. One of those days! Then we watched a bit of You tube while we snacked on packaged popcorn we had bought. Bed by 2100.
