Essaouira, Day 9
June 13th
Today was a “not a thing planned” day!!! And this is alright, we are discovering. Breakfast was the last of the Moroccan pancakes and grapefruit – half each. We finished and deciding what to do, when our realtor guy WhatsApp us with… da,da, dom… THE CONTRACT!! Whoop – whoop! 🙂 😉 So we readied quickly and headed out to his shop in the medina, by way of the ATM. Arrived and he printed up the contract; we signed. We will meet him tomorrow @ 1 and finalize with payment when we have the key! Leaving his shop, I'm walking on sunshine and cloud nine, so to speak.
We decided to take a leisurely stroll on the beach. Not that many tourists today, but about half dozen kite surfers. There's not a great deal of wind, but obviously, enough for this adventure sport. Since there are not many tourists, we were approached at least four different times for booking 'our adventure' – quad bikes, kitesurfing, camel rides… whatever we wanted! It was getting humorous, really. I can't blame them – it would be a slow day for them.
Anyway, the wind kicked up several notches. We don't want to be sand pelted, so we left beach front and found a rotisserie chicken place. This is actually our first one from a restaurant fresh off a spit. It was yummy.
Finished we went back to our place. Jeff did some planning and we took look at our budget for first two months. It was higher than we have planned for, but we knew it would be higher because we started in Europe. Our goal is around $100 per day. So that done we had light supper: baguette, rest of the eggplant dip, cheese, and olives with a Spanish wine; dessert of couple squares of dk chocolate with lemon and ginger. As always… hopeful for a good sunset watch.
