Essaouira, Day 7
June 11th
Up and about; just finished breakfast and our host asked if they could give us breakfast…. He would not take no for an answer, so we had second breakfast. Our host and his wife brought us “Moroccan pancakes”, called Baghrir. There were eight of them, and they were still warm so Jeff and I each had one. They were so good and spongy! I compare them to something between a crepe and a pancake. You could definitely taste the butter and just a hint of honey. It was unexpected and very delightful.
Anyway we went out to medina, in search of the real estate booth. Found it closed up so we WhatsApped the guy and were able to set up time to check out the apartment tomorrow. Yeah, fingers-crossed, it will be what we need and work out. Jeff's having a slight GI issue today, but not nauseated like I was few days ago. But we've been expecting this as our diets/eating habits have changed quite a bit.
So now that we've taken the next step in a place to reside for two months, we left the medina and just wondered the boardwalk to just get out and work some of second breakfast. We ended up walking to the Carrefour grocery store. We needed water, and a few odds and ends, plus some wine. Hailed a taxi to lug stuff and us back to our place.
Showered and ZOOMed our church back home in U.S.A. Good to see them. Technology is amazing!! Had another Baghrir for supper. I put some peanut butter that we found here on it; Jeff used apricot preserves. Will talk with our families and end this day, as always, seeing sunset.
