Essaouira, Day 5
June 9th
I feel much better today!! Praise be to God!!!!! We had breakfast of leftover tomatoes and green bell peppers with eggs and cheese; and bread. Then spent some time trying to find a place to stay for the foreseeable future. Narrowed it to three potential places. While getting around, our landlord came and changed out our towels and wanted to change sheets! We told him didn't need new sheets, but took the new towels. Now we went out to check out tentative apartments, by way of the sea – we went to the beach first! We started right at the harbor area then meandered. This beach is a long arc-shaped one. The surf today is present, we decided it is midway from the three times we've been here (first day calm, next time was pretty good-sized waves).
From here we went to check out a couple of restaurants our host has mentioned and the prospects of places we would maybe stay in soon. This is a two month commitment, so want to check them out. After review we picked one – I almost feel like one of those T.V. shows that a couple is deciding on their home. 🙂 Anyway, we decided on the place and finished 'getting in our steps', So headed back to our place, by way of a take-out place for lunch – Shawarma and frites.
We put in for our first choice place and within 20 minutes the landlord declined us – don't know why. I liked that kitchen best, too! 🙁 So put in for second choice and haven't heard anything yet. Jeff took a siesta and we just hung out in our apartment. Supper was pasta with tomato pesto and the some of the leftover tomatoes and peppers (we have a lot of it); bread and half of a honeydew-type melon we had bought couple of days ago.
Again, as always, hopeful for a sunset!
