Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Da Nang, Vietnam #37

     November 24,

This morning I awoke at 0700. Jeff was already up. He said he was up until midnight — chatting with Airbnb host regarding a future place we are staying at. Thankfully, it wasn't due to other issues! We have both had mild digestion issues… I guess we are due?? But really?! Blessed that it probably is not his gallbladder since I have had it to. Anyway, we readied and had our Javas. At 0900, we went to our hotel breakfast buffet – it's included. It was mostly Vietnamese traditional food. I had stir-fry noodles & chicken stir-fry with veggies; corn salad; and mango salad. Jeff- porridge and shallots; HB egg in sauce; croissant with ham & butter; chicken stir-fry with veggies; and green tea mini muffin. Good start to any day! 🙂

Back in our room, we relaxed till 1030 then we set out. Jeff had found an international church, Da Nang International Fellowship (DIF). We walked the 1.1 miles. We arrived and were greeted warmly. The congregation is a healthy size and balance of all ages. The service started promptly, with a solid 40 minutes of worship! That was great, but we are both still a bit croaky so we hummed quite a bit instead of singing. I really find that is hard for me to do! Then the service passed to Announcements, Prayer Request with Intercessory Prayer, and was followed by Offering. A husband and wife team lead the sermon time. Today, it seems to be a special service – unleashing of their Vision Statement for the upcoming year. Leading with Big and Bold Vision… “because if it's too big and bold, it has be a step of faith with only results God can do.” I found that an interesting approach. Also this next year the ministry is delving into “being Chosen– in love, in sacrifice, in service, in ministry, compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience”… I think like twenty chosen items were named. Something else that resonated with me was to be chosen is to have “water-walking faith moments”. Then the DIF congregation gave a prayer over the congregation's minister whose building they have been blessed to meet in. Then we were released to a luncheon that was provided. Jeff and I stayed and partook of a feast, mingling some. Always good!

We started heading back to our place, but looked to start raining any minute, so we ordered a Grab taxi and came back, having him stop the half block before and we picked up our newly laundered clothes. Once back at our place, siesta time! We did visit the hotels Sauna! That was very good for our congestion. While we were sweating another couple came in and we struck up a conversation. He is from Washington state, but lives in Thailand. She lives here in Vietnam but is from Japan. That was fun, but short lived due to near heat stroke – kidding, but we did get a bit too hot. We parted and left back for our apartment/room.

We went back out around 1700 and bought some cheese and other stuff. We went back and had Gouda cheese, Blue cheese and Sourdough bread. Then I did a video WhatsApp with my mother. And lastly we Zoomed with some of our church brethren back home. Bed by 2330.
