Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Chiang Mai, Thailand #37

     June 30,

We awoke around 7:00, and had our Javas while sitting outside enjoying the butterflies and the beautiful flowers. We talked with my sister on WhatsApp Video. Then we had a ‘put together’ breakfast with leftovers of the pineapple, and the coconut waffle. We also had some yogurt that we had bought previously. Now we packed our stuff, as we have decided to move to Chiang Mai for the last 6 days in Thailand. We then did a WhatsApp Video with Jeff’s sister and her husband. We loaded up the car. I tried to help as much as I can because Jeff is still hobbling, but he said his knee feels a bit better.

We checked out and left our little garden oasis at 1115. We first attempted Chae Son Waterfall in the national park with the same name, but the price, coupled with the online pictures of it turned us off(compared to the big waterfalls yesterday). We continued on road 1252, next stopping at Lychee Viewpoint. There was a great sweeping vista view of another valley nestled in more mountains. On the road again, which has been encroached upon by the living forest/jungle around us. There are lots of zig zags, up and downs, and windy curves that Jeff so loves to drive on. Also as we were driving along, we experienced – off and on – little sprinkles of rain.

Then we turned onto 4063, and we came to another waterfall that involved a turn off to a no-name road. The Tabsadet Thebsadej Waterfall Tad Mork. It was a smaller waterfall with a much longer name, but was still pretty, free to see, and no hiking involved. Back on 4063 Road, we stopped at Wat Pang Hai. I climbed up the steps and took pictures, but didn’t go in as I had on shorts- not proper dress attire. Jeff stayed back and admired from a distance. We loaded back up, moved on and tried to go to Mae Wong Waterfall. But again, it didn’t happen, because it involved a hike to the falls. Next, we turned onto 3005 to cut over to big divided hwy 118. We passed through many little villages, all of them having at least a couple coffee shops.😋 We hit the 118 and then arrived in Chiang Mai by 1330. We have decided to stay here until we leave Thailand. This will give us both time to recoup. First we went to a Big C Supercenter and bought some stuff. By 1445, we were checked into Astra Condos. This is where we stayed in Chiang Mai before, but it’s a different apartment – same same, but different. We are on the ninth floor, building B (Before was the 11th floor, building A). We unloaded our stuff and relaxed. Whew!!

We fixed our own pasta with a leftover sausage with some wine for supper. Happy to be back in Chiang Mai!!!
