Capestang
April 24th
Awoke to a pleasant, albeit, windy day. Last night we talked with some family and friends and ate a hamburger and frites at a “food truck” just where we were moored. While we waited for our burger, we were able to get in some pet therapy. The owner's dog was super friendly and just what we needed. Ended the night with a gorgeous sunset!
We set off and eventually drove 16km. The canal became more meandering and serpentine; and actually wider (?), not for sure on this but seems to be the case. Along the way, we watched as an otter cut across in front of us from one bank to the other. That was unexpectedly very surprising!
Arrived in Capestang; able to moor in a place; and hook up to electric and fill up water. Then we set out for lunch. We went to Cafe Restaurant La Grille. Jeff had the set menu: starter of charcuterie – four meat samples and a mini dill pickle with baguette slices; main – a steak with accompaniment of mushroom cream sauce and side of flavored rice; and dessert of creme praline. I had grilled salmon with haricots vert (which is green beans, but they were seasoned so well you can not just call them green beans). It was a highlight meal for us!! 😉
