Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Cape Town #6

     November 11th

November 9th – We did have a walk to get lunch – fish! We went to Goldfish Cafe (where we went few days before). It was still as good. I had a Smoked Salmon Poke Bowl- salmon, over a deconstructed salad of carrots, beets, pickled cucumber, lettuce, beans, and spicy rice with dollops of a spicy mayo. Jeff had grilled hake and french fries. Both were outstanding! We also walked to a grocery store

Yesterday I awoke with my sciatica/hip/pelvis aching and hurting. So hello to the TENS unit, and anti-inflammatories. I don't know of anything I did to set it off, which is the most aggravating part. By mid afternoon I was better, I think, because I did not let it progress into my back and spasms. Anyway, I was able to go to a mall for a SIM card for my phone, and the grocery store. We tried lunch at Wimpy Burgers – we are not fans. (This chain used to be in the U.S.)

Today I awoke without any pain (except normal creaks and groans, getting old…). We were getting done with breakfast when Jeff received a text from our Airbnb hostess, our mail arrived!! Gotta back up some, Tuesday Jeff received an email that a credit card of his had been compromised!!  What!?!  This is crazy! Jeff was able to get in touch with our hostess and she gave her address to sent it to. Then he called credit card company. (Remember this is all Tuesday.) The associate helping Jeff said it would be two to seven business days and we should have  our card. Right!!!  BUT, it did. The card came today. It has been four business days, and we got it. This is only a big deal because we had a previous credit card issue and did not receive it after two failed attempts. We finally had it sent to family!

Anyway, this is looking more promising for future issues. It's a learning process that is for sure. We met our hostess, got the card and were able to activate it. We had to go to the store again, to a pharmacy, and then, back to our place. We decided to have our big meal at lunch. We had some prepared braai lamb chops. (Braai is Africans for BBQ or grilling meat.) So the meat is seasoned and sliced ready to grill. We have access to a grill, but decided to just pan sear the chops. We also had some 'chilli-curry' seasoned bread, with a nice Shiraz. (We had made a salad but did not get to it – it will be supper.)

Tomorrow we plan to meet with a local GCI congregation for services! Looking forward to it. Hope to see some of you all tomorrow!
