Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Buenos Aires, Argentina #31

     March 18,

We awoke, readied, and settled into our Javas and breakfast of oatmeal and yogurt. The temperature outside was crisp and cool- yesterday’s rain cooled it off nicely. We wanted to take advantage of this and set out by 1030. We first went to the local fruit and veggie place, getting a few things as our stock was greatly deplenished and carried this back. That accomplished we really set out.

We walked to the Ecological Reservoir Area, passing close to the Hilton Hotel, near where our Buenos Aires Adventures started. This is where so many more grand buildings are. We passed by a statue of Juan Peron, one of Argentina’s Presidents – Eva Peron was his wife and first lady. Right near here on the walkway, Jeff saw a rhinoceros beetle. God has quite an imagination! As we walked on to a different entrance of the reservoir, we found where yachts and sailboats were anchored up! This answered a question we had previously! We entered into the reservoir and took a longer trek, just taking in the great weather, sunshine and sounds of the ocean waves lapping the shore.

When we finished we decided to go to a Greek restaurant for lunch. Jeff ordered a Cabify, as it was quite far in another direction. Buenos Aires’ 16 million metro is a large sprawl of city! As we got into the taxi, the young driver actually spoke English and we carried on a conversation! It was nice and he gave us some places to go in Patagonia!! That was great. Anyway, we arrived at Theos Souvlaki and we thanked him. We ordered Moussaka, and a variety plate: dolmades, souvlaki, Greek salad, fried cheese, a type of corn hushpuppy, fries, and feta topped with dates and honey. We also had tzatziki and baba ganoush sauces with some pita. It was so good!!! The Moussaka had a different, but good flavor. We each had a glass of Rose wine. Our excellent lunch cost 68,000 ARS, $49.31.

Now we caught a bus to get us back near our place. It was packed and busy!! Jeff stood, as did several others, the whole time! When we arrived back at our place we had done over 16,000 steps, so we relaxed and took it easy. I even took a bath! For supper we just had part of a melon. Later, we watched some Star Wars stuff – on the Jedi, Ahsoka. Another blessed day!
