HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BROTHER!
We both slept well last night!😄 It does happen.🤣😂 We got about, noticed we had water. Yay!! So Jeff sent our host a text, letting her know. Then we walked out to get our laundry done. When we arrived the launderette lady said, “No water, later”. That was a Shazam moment. Is the whole area having water problems? Do they only get water from tanker water trucks. Like we have seen on so many islands? Anyway, she said it would be around six tonight, before it would be ready. We were okay with that and paid. We walked back to our place. It is a bit warmer today, due to the sun finally shining. We set about having cold Javas and breakfast of Muesli and yogurt, with the last of our chocolate bread. Then I blogged as Jeff read; then watched some YouTube.
Around noon we decided to make a Pasta dish with a Cheesy Pesto sauce we bought a few days ago. We added some of the Purple Tiger Peppers from the plant we had bought, also onion, and salami. It was very good.👍🏻 Then we looked up a dentist for Jeff. He has one tooth bothering him. We walked 1.2 km to one place that has good reviews. When we arrived the receptionist said the dentist was involved in a long procedure – like two hours. Ouch, that doesn't sound good. We said we'd come back. So we went to the nearby grocery store, bought our stuff, and then walked back. We had a spittle of rain just as we started, but it stopped soon enough.
At our place, we unloaded and had a bit of siesta time. Just before 1600, Jeff E-hailed a Grab taxi. We went back to the dentist office. The receptionist said the Dentist was involved with the same patient!!😯🤯Jeff said he’d be back tomorrow. Wowza… really, feel bad for that person and the Dentist! We left and went to the bread store- found more Sourdough and a Carrot Cake loaf. Then we went to Robinson's for supper stuff. Close back to our place, we stopped at a local fruit and veggie stand. As we come to our place, we saw two ladies talking at the house underneath where we are staying. It was the first time I had seen anyone! I waved, and they waved back. Inside our place we unloaded and cooled off.
Around six we went and collected our laundry, and saw sunset as we went back to our studio. Then as we were making a light supper; we saw a very short lived faint rainbow. We had some cheese, the bread, and some of the carrot cake loaf – which was pretty good. Then watched some YouTube and to bed.
March 28,
I awoke at 0740! I didn’t get to sleep until around 2300, but I slept well after that! But Jeff not so much – he woke up at 0400, but he was able to get to sleep by 2130. So it was not as bad as it seems. Anyway, we had our Javas and breakfast of an avocado and last of the carrot cake loaf.
We were ready to go to the Dentist for Jeff when he had the message that he will be receiving his batteries within the hour from Lazada, a delivery service like Amazon. So we waited… and waited. Finally, at 1040, I told Jeff to go & I stayed behind for the delivery. We had to pay for it yet, so someone has to be here. Jeff did WhatsApp video me when he was done at the dentist. He said he would go to the store; and then return home. I continued to wait and wait and wait. At 1155, I received a call from the Lazada delivery guy and went down, paying and receiving the AA battery package! At 1157, I tried to WhatsApp video with Jeff, but he did not answer and two minutes later he walked in. He related what the Dentist said – his tooth has a “leaking” crown! Jeff said the dentist charged him 1,500 PHP ($26.15) to try to seal it until we have the time in one spot to get the crown fixed. Jeff said he’ll deal with it in Chiang Mai, as we are there for a month.
We set about and had lunch. Jeff had found some Blue Marlin, and brought a steak of it home. So we cut the fish up in bite size pieces and had it in pasta with onion, purple peppers, and a curry coconut cream sauce. It was great!😋😋 Then we just relaxed the rest of the afternoon. Right at 1600 the heavens opened up and it rained and rained, we also had two loud claps of thunder! It slowed down after 25 minutes, but continued spitting until around 1640. It must have been a lot of rain, but there was not any wind so the rain came straight down.
Supper was snack food: cheese and bread with PB. Then later we had some popcorn and just listened to music. Laid back evening.
