Agadir, Day 3
May 31st
Today is the last day of May, and tomorrow starts our eighth week of our new journey, new way of life – sojourners of the world.
We set off right after breakfast at nine. On the agenda today was a museum and the beach. We hailed our bus – it was almost 20 minutes late. We exited for the museum. It wasn't what Jeff thought it was. He was under the impression it was on Berber culture. It was a museum of Moroccan paintings and some jewelry. First room I enjoyed, the rest, probably 7-8 more rooms trended toward abstract art, I'm not as big a fan. From here we trekked maybe one mile to the beach. This is the first time we are in touristy area (hotel after hotel) -and seeing foreigners lets you know.
Anyway, arrived to the beach. The sand is ultrafine, not many shells, and not that busy. The water is cool to warm – nice! We walked a ways, then decided to head back. We forgot suntan lotion and a towel. Crazy, I know! Jeff booked an inDrive to take us to our lunch destination.
We went to a local fish place, and ordered a grilled seabream and a grilled pageot. They gave us starter: one small bowl of fresh, chunky salsa; another small bowl of pureed spicy/hot sauce; and third small bowl of lentil broth – each. As well as two five inch rounds of bread. Then the fish. Wow! So good, fresh and hot. Each fish definitely tastes different, both equally good. We enjoyed immensely.
Walked back to our place it was a busy morning. So we took a siesta! I'm liking these now. I can't nap, but to relax is great! We had left over chicken, and some great cheese with our Moroccan wine for dinner. We had a bottle last night, not so good, tonight's was better, but… yeah, it's Moroccan. 😉
Anyway, went out for sunset. Just nice to get out. The sunset was not the greatest, but still enjoyed it – and got a pistachio ice cream bar afterward.
