Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Chiang Mai, Thailand #6

     May 17,

This morning was kinda drizzly, cloudy day upon awakening. We got around having breakfast of ham on toast as sandwiches and a yogurt each. Then lots of planning!… as in the rest of the morning until lunchtime!!! I know it has to be done, but not a fan although I did some crafty stuff with making a calendar. We are both visually oriented and still need to see a big paper calendar.

Ready for food and a break (for me), we jumped on our scooter and headed out. We went to the mall we’d gone to on our first day here in Chiang Mai, to get steps as well as food. As we arrived, we noticed a tent set up in the parking lot… it was labeled ‘Recharge Market 2025’ There were all kinds of vendors, including food ones. Woohoo!! Our kind of market! We tried some fish sausage at one vendor. Yummy!😋 Maybe it was a mistake as that made us more hungry!😂  We decided to go get steps in the cool mall, first, then come back and get lunch. So into the mall. We walked the four floors, taking in people and just walking.

Once we’d done a circuit, we went back out to the tent for lunch, choosing two of many stalls. We got a large kabob of BBQ Chicken for 35 THB ($1.05) at the first stall and then a homemade sausage at the second stall that cost 50 THB ($1.50). We found a table, sat and enjoyed our food. Still hungry, we saw some puff-ball-things at a stall right by us. We bought a medium bowl’s worth of two kinds: X6 garlic & chive, and X4 corn. He gave a dipping sauce for them, all for 50 THB ($1.50). We ate those and were satiated, but thirsty. So at another stall we got a lemon honey soda for 35 THB ($1.05). Lastly we returned to the fish sausage stall and bought a whole package for 170 THB ($5.12) to take back to our place for other meals. This lady vendor gave us another sample! She told us she’s from Phuket, which we have been to a number of years ago. She was so friendly… anyway, we thanked her and left. I took her picture, as I had of all the stalls we visited. We went back into the mall for few more steps and then grocery stuff.

Hopped back on our 🛵 for our place. What fun that lunch was! Then at our place we unloaded and cooled off. I blogged as Jeff did more planning.🤯😂  As evening rolled around, for supper we had bread and cheese. We watched a movie as it rained. Good day.

     May 18,

When I awoke my back was more sore – it had begun hurting last night, but I ignored it in my infinite wisdom! So, today, I started the day with a couple of TENS unit sessions! UGH!!🙄 It helped, but, really!?… If it ain’t one thing, it’s another! That set the tone of the day. We had our Javas and breakfast of oatmeal. Then the rest of the morning was Jeff planning and me – helping a little, but mostly lying down.

Morning gave way to afternoon and we had “lunner” of Alfredo Pasta with the fish sausage, we had bought yesterday. It turned out very yummy! Jeff did so much more planning through the afternoon… that he has pretty much etched out our all weeks before we go back to the States in late October!!😮 Jeff really is amazing how well he plans.🥹 It is crazy though, that the time is less than six months now. But before this, we will go to five new countries for us! EXCITING!!

Afternoon turned to evening. Supper was light, a fried egg sandwich. It rained again – so definitely a nightly rain pattern. We then video-talked with my mother on WhatsApp and conference-talked with our church back home via Zoom… just another day living somewhere else!
