Homps
April 19th
Initiated the day with a double lock. Then a single. Total of nine kilometers, about 6 miles. Sunny morning cruise into Homps. Along the way we passed this magnificent arched stone spillway, Epanchoir d'Argentdouble. A couple was riding their bikes along the tow path and wanted their picture taken, as did we.
In Homps, we ate lunch out at Restaurant En Bonne Compagnie. The meal was excellent. We both had starter of warm Combebelle (a very local) goat cheese salad with smoked duck breast and sundried tomatoes. For main Jeff had vegetarian lasagna with a mixed salad; I had fish and chips with peas and fresh made tartare sauce. Both our meals were very delicious, and visually appealing. We shared a carafe of local red wine. Then for dessert, we split a dish of coconut milk panna cotta with a pineapple and chili salsa. Tonight we stay docked here.
