Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Langkawi, Malaysia #3

     March 6,

I was up and about by 0730. Jeff had been awake since 0500. By 0750, we were out. Jeff had found a couple of coffee shops online – still trying to find a place to grind my coffee beans. So we went to check them out. The coffee shops were not open. As a matter of fact, we noticed there was not much open. We don't know if this was because of Ramadan this month. Sunrise is not until until 0730, so this may play some into the lack of people and nothing being open. Questions?

Soo… we opted to walk on the beach. We saw the beach adventure sports places opening up. Trucks and SUV vehicles were pulling trailers loaded with jets skis onto the beach. Some people were walking, but the vehicle traffic was the most activity going on. We walked the length of the beach and came back some of the distance, ducking back onto the street to see if the coffee roaster places are open yet. One of places we tried before was open now and he had a grinder. He was okay with grinding the beans!! I had bought the beans in Koh Lanta! Yeah!!! Thankfully he was not busy, as it took some time. When he first opened the bag, he was impressed with the smell and nodded. I knew he was a coffee lover! He even asked where the coffee came from. So he ground my coffee and we ordered a drink each – me an iced mocha; Jeff an iced chocolate. The drinks cost 21 Rm, which was $4.74, but we gave him 25 Rm ($5.65) for the effort of grinding or processing that he’d done. It was greatly appreciated!! 🤗😄

We left and went back to our place and had crackers with PB and chocolate with the last of our Javas for breakfast. We got over 6,000 steps before 1000 AM and I have fresh ground coffee for the next couple of weeks… not instant. Yippee! Great morning!

For lunch we had our last yogurt, with some blueberries, an apple and last of the PB and chocolate mix we had. Tomorrow we leave, so using up our food supplies. We watched some YouTube videos of where we are going next. It’s a new country for us, so Jeff is doing lots of planning. The afternoon was supposed to be rainy, but has not happened yet! Of course!! (We found out later it actually did rain and we missed it!)

Around 1700, we went back out for supper, catching a Grab taxi. We chose to go back to Smokeys BBQ, because it's all that and a bag of chips… in this case, a hunk of meat! Da bum ching!!! 😂🤣  Anyway, we ordered the Smoked Beef Ribs with Potato Wedges, Corn, and Coleslaw; and a Cherry-wood Smoked Salmon Salad. Both entrees were fantastic. The owner prides himself on his ribs and he should! He has reason too- he has done a fabulous job. The smoked salmon was great as well, heavily, smokey flavor. UMM – getting hungry as I write this. We talked with the owner some again. We will definitely write him and his wife a review.

We walked back to our place and looked over our stuff for upcoming places. Then we started packing stuff. We have to set an alarm for tomorrow!!
