Living our dream,

 traveling the world!

Kandy, Sri Lanka #7

     April 22

Past two days have been laid back ones.

Yesterday, we were up and about by 0700. Breakfast at nine-ish was muesli and milk (no yogurt, we have to go to the store). We watched some You tube and just hung out. Around two we went out for lunch, opting for Vito Wood Fired Pizza. (They have Garfield as a “mascot.” I used to love Garfield😁, so great vibe already!) Jeff had a 9 inch Spicy Beef Pizza (Beef marinated in spicy pepper sauce with tomato sauce and toppings of red onion, green chillies, and mozzarella). I had a Calzone Stella (Tuna with tomato sauce and toppings of olives, capers and mozzarella; then cut into sixths and each piece folded and decoratively arranged as in a starfish pattern with tomato slices). Both were good, but mine was better: taste, presentation, and uniqueness. We each had a cocktail – Jeff's a Dark & Stormy – red rum, ginger beer soda, and lime; mine a Blue Mojito – white rum, lime, sprite, mint, and blue curacao. Enjoyed that meal!

Then we went to the Keell's store. We bought our list, plus; and we went to a bottle shop. Then we arrived back home – just in time. The “heavens opened up” – so to speak. It rained quite a bit! We had a light supper of crackers and peanut butter. I was able to video chat with my mother and we were able to connect with our church family back in the USA.

Today, we were up around the same time and had our Muesli (with milk for Jeff, me with yogurt). I was able to video chat with my sister. We have influenced them some, they made Moroccan Spiced Lamb Chops!! Yeah!!! They are definitely foodies, like us – love you guys!

Then Jeff attempted to reach the Immigration Office here back in Colombo, Sri Lanka – he was on hold for 45 minutes, and never did speak to a representative!! Wowza! Our extended Visa has been confirmed, but we haven't received any notification for payment of the new Visa. So… we (or he?) may have to go back to Colombo in the near future. (We still have time as we are here on a for sure one month Visa. I just had a thought, wouldn't it be nice to have a World Visa??? That's a BIG Question!) Anyway, after the call hit 46 minutes he hung up. We finally resumed our resistance band exercises – it has been since India(?) since we have done them! Slackers, I know! We had PB & spicy J sandwiches for lunch. We then watched some You tube about Sri Lanka to make sure we are not missing something important.

Around 1630 we had to go out and get some water. It was perfect timing, as the daily front was moving in, and not quite here. The temperature had come down nicely, but it was not raining yet! Water in hand and steps under our belt, we arrived back at our place just in time! It rained some, not like last night though😉. We made a marinara pasta for dinner. Then I blogged as Jeff read. It was a pleasant evening with the cooler air. No visible sunset though. We plan on bed around ten.
