Buenos Aires, Argentina #33
March 20,
We did not get up until late due to our late (but fantastic) dinner and our later than normal night. Also I did not sleep very well – I could not fall asleep then tossed and turned. I just wasn’t comfortable because I was so full since we ate so much later than our normal. Anyway, once we were up we had our Javas, but we skipped breakfast!
Around 1300, we had lunch in, finishing our melon and a salad. Then we set out walking to the grocery store, Jumbo. We found some of our items and went to another store, a bigger Coto store, to get the last items. When we finished, Jeff got a Cabify to get us back with all of our groceries. The sky was getting pretty dark, as in, it might rain any minute, kind of dark. Once back at our place we had stir-fry for supper. Just a laid back day.
March 21,
I did not sleep well again… don’t know why this time. Maybe it is just getting old.🙄 Actually it rained from eleven until two am. We got around and had our Javas, Muesli, and yogurt. We didn’t have any major plans today. This was good, as it was supposed to continue to rain most of the day and it did.
Afternoon came and we made grilled cheese sandwiches with salami for lunch. We spent the rest of the day just relaxing and watched some more Star Wars sagas. Supper was a salad and some sliced cheese with crackers. Rainy day agenda.
March 22,
Finally, I slept well, but Jeff, not so much – said he woke up at five and tossed & turned. Maybe we’ll get this right. It amazes me – the whole sleep thing anyway. We set about to our Javas and breakfast of avocado toast. Today was only supposed to be a high in the low to mid seventies! So pretty cool. The weather app shows it to stay around this temperature the rest of our time in Buenos Aires. That will be nice – good walking weather!
We connected with our church back home via Zoom. We had a few glitches with the internet, but was at least able to see some brethren. Then we had lunch of pesto four cheese stuffed pasta with bread and wine. When we finished we had a couple of hours. I blogged some – I had gotten behind some. But wasn’t hard to catch up. Jeff did some reading then put the editors touch on the blog.
Next we connected with my mother, her husband, and a surprise visitor – my brother was there. So we had a good little video chat. Then we linked up with my sister. She is thankfully doing better. We had a couple of hours until our last video chat so we set about for the last of our popcorn for supper and watch a short movie when there was a knock at the door. It was our main host. He was here to give us a key for one of the outside doors to the building. Jeff has had a couple of times the keyfob has not worked. The host asked for the second set, which we had to explain we never received. Anyway he left and we started the popcorn, but then another knock after about ten minutes. It was the host again, seems the apartment below us has had water from their ceiling… after 15 minutes, he was ready to leave and I showed him a receiver the new internet people left and the mail we had received couple of days ago. Finally he left and we settled in to our popcorn and movie. We lastly talked with Jeff’s sister and her husband. They are well and planning a big fall trip. Then we turned in… a few days of simply living somewhere else.
