Kubu, Bali #19
October 1,
We awoke with no plans for the day. Having our Javas out on our balcony/patio, we noticed that someone else was staying here. Two ladies, but they were heading out on their scooter. They must have come in during our exploring yesterday. Anyway, I was working on a blog when one of the staff brought up our laundry. We had turned in a load two days ago. He asked us if we were ready for breakfast and it was 0830. We went on over. I had sunny side up eggs and Jeff had scrambled.
We went back to our room. We did a little more arranging of trains in Taiwan, as morning gave way to afternoon. Around 1400, we went out for lunch. We wanted to go back to Chops and Hops. We were more hungry and we ordered two mains. Jeff had the ‘Meat your Maker,’ which was an assortment of meats: Sausage, Chicken Steak, Pork Chops, and Bacon. It also had sauteed onion and tomato, pepper sauce, herb butter; with sides of salad and baked potato. I had ‘Ric’s Fave,’ which was a special Cordon Bleu Chicken Schnitzel stuffed with Gorgonzola cheese, and fried Bacon with sides of baked potato and mixed veggies. The portions were huge and we were both very full. The baked potato serving was a medium sized and a small sized potatoes for each of us! They were stuffed with tzatziki-like sauce. That was unusual. Jeff had a Prost Draft beer and I had an Arak Attack. We paid 380,000 IDR or $22.82.
Back at our place we survived a food coma and then went for a swim. We did not eat any supper, because well… no need! It turned into a foodie day!
October 2,
We awoke and had no plans today. This was a good thing though, as I was having some GI upset… maybe too much food yesterday?🤔 We got around. I had tea and Jeff had his normal hot chocolate. We went on to breakfast. I just had toast with some PB & strawberry jam, with the lovely watermelon; and Jeff had scrambled eggs, toast with PB & Nutella, plus his watermelon. We then pretty much spent the day vegging, as my system “rebooted” so to speak. I was a bit peaked, but after I napped I was semi-improved. Jeff had no problems, thankfully.
Morning gave way to afternoon and then to evening. Jeff went out and bought some ramen for himself, and yogurt for me. I had the yogurt with granola- gingerly, and it was fine. Hopefully, whatever I had has all passed. We watched some YouTube and Jeff did more scheduling. Due to his diligent work most of all the big steps are completed until we get back for our visit in the US. Our Bali experience is about over!😲😢 Overall it has been quite great!!
